Over the past six years, Friends of Naval Academy Music (FONAM) has provided direct support to the U.S. Naval Academy music program through targeted equipment purchases, tour support, and financial contributions, bringing total cash and equipment contributions since inception to nearly $430,000.
Key contributions and allocations include:
2026: Donated over $67,000 to purchase 41 historic rope drums.
2025: Donated over $60,000 directly to the music program, including 10 Yamaha euphoniums for the Drum & Bugle Corps and direct financial support.
2024: Over $55,000 contributed, featuring 150 digital music screens for the Drum & Bugle Corps (replacing traditional paper music lyres), 4 new trumpets, 6 new mellowphones, and support for the Glee Club's tour to Japan.
2023: $62,200 contributed.
2022: $54,000 contributed.
2020: Contributed over $46,000, which included approximately $26,000 for state-of-the-art video recording and computer equipment to sustain virtual music programming during COVID-19 protocols, along with $20,000 for a set of hand-crafted steel drums.
